Complex Power Sharing as Conflict Resolution: South Tyrol in Comparative Perspective

Published in Tolerance through Law: Self-governance and Group Rights in South Tyrol (edited by Jens Woelk, Francesco Palermo, and Joseph Marko, Brill, 2008), this chapter assesses the utility of the notion of complex power sharing as an analytical category to examine different approaches to conflict resolution qua institutional design. It focuses on the case of South Tyrol, but also offers a broader comparative perspective on other similar cases.
