Together with my colleagues Argyro Kartsonaki, Christalla Yakinthou, and Dawn Walsh, I wrote this paper, seeking to answer the question what the effects of transitional justice and power sharing arrangements in civil war settlements are on the sustainability of peace, the attainability of justice, and the quality of democracy. We develop a theoretical model of the relationship between power sharing and transitional justice in peace agreements and their impact on the attainability and sustainability of long-term peace, justice, and democracy, and test it on a new dataset of 72 post-1989 peace agreements.
